The fourth CONVERSATIONS workshop has been successfullt completed. More than 150 participants registered to the workshop to share and discuss new knowledge and recent experiences within chatbot research and design. The aim for the workshop series is to be an engaging arena for keeping up with the rapidly advancing field of chatbot research. This year, the workshop was a virtual event hosted by the University of Amsterdam.

CONVERSATIONS 2020 IN BRIEF:

Exciting paper presentations: The 21 best papers submitted to the workshop, on topics such as chatbot UX and design, social and relational chatbots, and chatbots for education and customer service. New of this year was the CONVERSATIONS best paper award – see the nominees and winner here.

Excellent key notes: We are honoured to have Q. Vera Liao (IBM Research AI) and Björn W. Schuller (Imperial College London & Augsburg University) as our key note speakers.

Engaging groupworks: Workshop participants could choose between collaborative sessions on co-creation of chatbot concepts, a process for chatbot development, and chatbot ethics – see details.


CONVERSATIONS 2020 was supported by the University of Amsterdam, through the Research Priority Area Communication and its Digital Communication Methods Lab, and SINTEF and the Research Council of Norway, through the project Human Chatbot Interaction Design.
